Chief Tamanend

In 2022, the Delaware Nation commissioned sculptor Joel Randell to create three bronze busts of Chief Tamanend, a legendary leader whose legacy embodies peace, diplomacy, and wisdom.  These powerful tributes are now prominently displayed in three significant locations: the Delaware Nation Industries Corporate Headquarters in Oklahoma City, the National Hall of Fame for Famous American Indians, and the Delaware Nation Museum in Anadarko, Oklahoma.  Together, these busts celebrate the enduring impact of Chief Tamanend's leadership and vision, ensuring his contributions to Native American history are never forgotten.
 

Randell's intricate designs capture Chief Tamanend's strength, dignity, and the profound respect he commanded as leader of the Delaware Nation.  Remembered for his unwavering dedication to fostering harmony and unity, both within his own people and with others, Chief Tamanend holds a revered place in history.  These busts stand as potent symbols of cultural pride and heritage, inviting reflection on his timeless lessons of peace, mutual respect, and unity—values that resonate across generations.
